how to flash nokia 5233, 5230etc to custom firmware-LINSPIRAT

NOKIA 5233 MODDING

5233 Modding
at first download the nokia 5233 firmware (RM-625) here:

then download the original firmware of nokia 5233 by any nokia software downloader like navifirm...you can download it by here: navifirm
PNHT method has evolved very much in a short period of time. Now there are CFWs for 5800,5530,5230,5233,5235 & other s60 touch phones (Each country's variants)

Here on this blog we're gonna learn how to unleash the full potential of our 5233s

For using a CFW, u need to flash your phone with that CFW

Please note that Flashing will erase all your previous data so do the following things before flashing your phone

-Backup your Contacts (If you need to) and you can backup other things as well if you want

-Delete the folders Private, Sys, Resource, System from your memory card

So there are some tools you need for flashing

Download JAF Here

Download PKEY Here

Download JAF_NOK4Models Here

Now that you've downloaded the tools, You need to download the Nokia firmware files
Download Nokia 5233 ^PALIKON^ CFW files (version 51 - Latest one) here
Now first extract & install JAF 1.98.62 provided above. (Install it in the default directory only i.e. C:\Program Files\ODEON\JAF\ No need to change this directory)

Now extract the downloaded PKEY Emulator to C:\Program Files\ODEON\JAF\ & create a shortcut on the desktop. (You can delete all the other shortcuts created by JAF on your desktop)

Now extract the downloaded JAF_NOK4Models file. You'll get an ini file.
Place that file in C:\Program Files\ODEON\JAF\ & replace the older one. (This is done as our 5233 is not in the list of JAF's default device list)

Now extract the downloaded Nokia 5233 original firmware files. You'll see 8 files. Copy those files in C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products\RM-625\

Make this directory if you don't see it in Program Files & then copy all the files to the folder RM-625 (As 5233 is a RM-625 phone)

Now you need to download the Custom Firmware files. There are usually 3 files given by CFW creators (ROFS2, ROFS3 & a UDA file)

Usually the UDA provided is a blank file. A blank file is used to ensure that you get the maximum possible space on C:\ drive (Phone memory)

There are many CFWs available for 5233 at the moment
Now place these files in the folder C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products\RM-625\ (Replace the older ones when asked to)

Now Run PKEY Emulator from the shortcut you've created on the desktop

Windows Vista/Seven users need to right click on the shortcut & go to properties
Click on Compatibility Tab
Tick the option saying run this program in compatibility mode for:
Now select Windows XP (Service Pack 2)  (See the screenshot)
Now after running PKEY Emulator you'll see a new window like this one
Click on GO
Now a new window like this will pop-up saying BOX DRIVER NOT INSTALLED
Click on OK
Now you'll see a new window like this one. Click on BB5 TAB
Now Firstly Untick CRT 308
Now tick Manual Flash, Then Dead USB, Then Use INI. (Look the screenshot below)
After clicking Use INI, a new menu will come up in about 10 seconds like this one. Scroll down & find RM-625 Nokia 5232/5233 CABLE
Now click on OK
Now you'll see something like this
Now switch off your phone. Connect it to your computer with your USB cable
Now click on Flash. You'll see a warning like this one
Click on Yes
Now the Flashing process is about to begin
In the status & results box (See the screenshot below to see which is status & results box), You'll see PRESS POWER ON NOW, Searching for phone
Now as soon as you click yes on the last warning saying "you have selected to flash" you have to press the power button on the phone (Only for 1 second)
As soon as you press the power button, The flashing process will start
Now wait for it to finish (It usually takes about 2-3 minutes to finish)
After the flashing has finished, You'll see something like this & your phone will automatically reboot
Now disconnect your phone from the computer
And Ta-Da you've flashed your phone with the CFW :)

Windows 8 Tricks, Tips and Shortcuts

Windows 8 Consumer Preview cracked 1 million downloads shortly after launching last Wednesday and I'm sure many of you have tried it already. Whether you went with a dual-boot, upgrade, clean install or virtual machine, if you're coming from Windows 7 you'll notice significant changes immediately, while others may not be as obvious.

Inevitably, with change comes good and bad -- at least until you learn some tricks that get you back up to speed. I know I've been hitting my head against the wall when things don't behave the way they used to. The Start menu's absence is a perfect example of a radical change. Indeed, the duality of the OS may bring some trouble, but as skeptical as I was, I must admit Microsoft has done a pretty good job of easing many of my concerns.
Metro is undoubtedly very touch-oriented and perhaps a beginner's dream come true. For experienced users, it seems like Windows 8 still holds some promise. The devil is in the details, they say, so besides experimenting with a clean install I tried the upgrade option to see how well it worked. Going from a year-old Windows 7 install to the Consumer Preview was as seamless as you could ask for.
File copy dialogs, the task manager and search look better and work faster, and that adds up for an improved experience. I'm not loving Metro on my desktop since there's little I can currently do with the stock apps, but I wonder if that will be true once my most-used programs take full advantage of live tiles.
Without further ado, here's a shortlist of Windows 8 shortcuts and useful quick tricks I've gathered thus far.
Hot corners
The Start menu is no longer there, but there's a hot corner that makes up for it (unfortunately on multiple screens it's somewhat of a pain to use).
  • Lower-left corner + Left click Goes to the Start screen (Metro).
  • Lower-left corner + Right click Power user shortcut menu (Device Manager, Control Panel, Command Prompt, Power Options, etc.).
  • Upper-left corner Shows open window thumbnails, click to switch between them.
  • Upper screen limit + Click & Drag on desktop Move to left or right to snap the current desktop or Metro app to one side of the screen.
  • Lower-right corner Windows 8 Charm menu or Windows Aero Peak.
  • Upper-right corner Shows Windows 8 charm menu.

Left or right click on the lower-left corner and you'll be surprised with
a useful Windows orb replacement.
Keyboard shortcuts
Windows 8 is very hotkey-heavy, here are some of the shortcuts I find most useful:
  • Windows key Shows the new Start screen (Metro).
  • Win + type keyword Instant application search (same as in Windows 7).
  • Win + D Standard Windows desktop. Also minimizes/restores all open windows in desktop mode.
  • Win + Q Shows all installed apps.
  • Win + W Instant search for settings.
  • Win + F Instant search for files.
  • Win + I Settings sidebar (control panel, network, volume, brightness, notifications, and more).
  • Win + P Shows multi-monitor options, also useful for connecting an external monitor or projector.
  • Win + X Power user shortcut menu (Device Manager, Control Panel, Command Prompt, Power Options, etc.).
  • Win + Z Shows App Bar in Metro applications.
  • Win + . (period) Snaps the current Metro app to the right side of the screen. Do it twice and it will snap to the left.
  • Win + . (period) + Shift Snaps the current Metro app to the left side of the screen.
  • Win + J Switches focus between snapped Metro apps.
  • Win + Page Up / Down Moves full-screen Metro app to secondary monitor.
  • Win + Left / Right arrow Moves and snaps desktop applications in that direction, or to a different monitor.
  • Win + Tab Switches between open applications. Similar to using the left-upper hot corner with a mouse.
  • Win + L Locks Windows.

You can snap Metro apps or your desktop to the side and continue working on the center of the screen.
Another shortcut lets you switch focus between the two.

Showing all apps at once (Windows Phone style) and searching with a few keystrokes is
the Windows 8 equivalent to the old Programs menu.
Get the Start Menu back, orb and all!
Following user posts in our previous Windows 8 articles, I've seen some of you wanting to completely get rid of Metro and get the Windows 7 orb back. If that's the case I'd personally recommend you just stick to Windows 7, but if you already jumped ship there's a trick to do so as discussed on AskVG.
Updated: A second, improved alternative The clever folks at Stardock have released a piece of software called Start 8 that essentially adds a Start button to Windows 8's desktop mode. When you click on it you get a Metro-esque Start menu from where you can search and access other settings.
Remove that pesky wallpaper watermark
As we've seen on older betas, Windows 8 CP shows a wallpaper watermark indicating it's not a final build. The lock screen or Metro UI don't have any similar nagging reminder, and spending a majority of my time in the desktop mode, the message is tacky to say the least. Here's a solution I found circulating on a few forums:
  • Download this zip file and install the InstallTakeOwnership.reg registry file
  • Take Ownership from the shell32.dll.mui file located on C:WindowsSystem32en-US
  • Take Ownership from the basebrd.dll.mui file located on C:WindowsBrandingBasebrden-US
  • Copy and replace the shell32.dll.mui from the Edited Files to C:WindowsSystem32en-US
  • Copy and replace the basebrd.dll.mui from the Edited Files to C:WindowsBrandingBasebrden-US
  • Close the Windows Explorer window and open the Command Prompt with Administrator rights (remember that Win + X shortcut?)
  • Type mcbuilder, wait for it to finish and reboot.
Other quick tips
  • Drivers Windows 8 won't suffer the same fate Vista did with drivers. Most Windows 7 drivers will work just fine with the new OS. Nvidia advised GeForce owners to use the readily available 295.73 driver set, while AMD decided to release new Radeon drivers for the Consumer Preview.
  • Recalling storage space after setup Your mileage may vary with a Windows 7 upgrade. It worked great for me but remember this is still beta software. Anyway, if you upgraded you may want to restore files from the Windows.old directory which contains data from your older OS installation and other files used during the setup using the Disk Cleanup tool. Reminder #2: If you upgrade, you can't revert back to Windows 7.

You can recover a few gigabytes worth of storage space if you
clean up after a Windows 8 upgrade.
  • Upgrading to Windows 8 Windows 8 will offer a complete upgrade option from Windows 7, but the same won't be possible if you are using Vista or XP (or the current Consumer Preview for that matter). System requirements for Windows 8 are essentially the same as Windows 7 (which were similar to Vista), so most semi-modern hardware will run it just fine.
  • Metro notifications, turning some of those off Windows 8 encourages you to use a Microsoft account so you can take advantage of neat features like SkyDrive or syncing your OS settings across multiple PCs. However, it will also activate other things like the Messaging Metro app, which looks good, but becomes a nag if you are using a different IM client like Trillian or Pidgin. Windows 8 uses notifications that resembles those of Growl on OS X. You can fully manage, and deactivate the Messenger app notifications from the Settings menu.

Windows 8's notifications look good and serve a purpose, but you may want to be
selective about the programs that can interrupt your workflow.
  • Native screenshots in Win 8 Although using a third-party tool like Droplr remains the easiest way to grab and share a screenshot, Windows 8 finally adds a screenshot shortcut that doesn't require the snipping tool or another program where you can paste the taken image. Win + Prt Sc does the trick, saving a PNG image file on the Pictures folder.

Place a Fully Functional Recycle Bin on your Windows 7 Taskbar

I'm not exactly sure when it became cool to abandon the use of your operating system's desktop, but a growing number of people these days prefer the "clean" look. Recent releases of Microsoft Windows seem to encourage this. By default, Windows Vista and 7 strip the desktop of all icons but the Recycle Bin.
Try as you may, ignoring this lone icon is impossible. Sure, you can hide it in just a few seconds, but at the cost of losing quick access to deleted files. You could also drag the Recycle Bin icon to the taskbar, but then it will appear pinned under Windows Explorer -- requiring an extra click to open and offering half the functionality.
In this tip, we will show you one method of bringing a fully functional Recycle Bin to your Windows 7 Taskbar, so you can clear off your desktop once and for all with little to no compromise.
To get started, we'll have to bring out the Quick Launch bar. Rest assured, it will not replace the new Windows 7 Superbar -- in fact you won't even know Quick Launch is there. Right click on the Windows 7 Taskbar, hover over Toolbars and click New toolbar.

When prompted to provide a folder directory, enter the following string of text: %userprofile%AppDataRoamingMicrosoftInternet ExplorerQuick Launch

After doing so, a labeled Quick Launch bar should appear near the clock. Odds are it will have several icons onboard, but since we won't be using this bar for anything apart from hosting the Recycle Bin I would just delete all of the shortcuts.

Right click on the Taskbar and uncheck Lock the taskbar if it isn't already. Now, right click on your Quick Launch bar and uncheck Show text, as well as Show title. Finally, right click and hover on View to select the size that your Recycle Bin icon will be -- I chose large to match my Superbar icons.

With the Quick Launch bar configured, all you have to do is drag and drop the Recycle Bin onto it. Feel free to grab the dotted lines and drag the Quick Launch bar to your preferred location. I would recommend either pulling it all the way to the left near the Start menu, or all the way right near the clock.

When you are satisfied with the position of your Quick Launch bar, relock the Taskbar and hide the Recycle Bin on your desktop by right-clicking an empty space and selecting Personalize, then clicking Change desktop icons in the left column of the Personalization window and un-checking the appropriate box.

Turn Off your Display Using a Windows Shortcut and More

Although it may seem unnecessary at first thought, there is some practicality in having a software shortcut to instantly turn off your monitor. It could prove very useful with notebook computers, if yours doesn't have a keyboard shortcut for shutting down the screen. It could also be convenient in the presence of multiple monitors, your power button might be broken, or you may indeed just be that lazy.
Whatever the case may be, setting up a Windows shortcut to turn off your display(s) couldn't be any easier with the help of a small utility called Wizmo, that can be downloaded here.
The downloaded file will be a small standalone executable. You'll want to move this file somewhere convenient for permanent keeping. I'm tossing mine in a new program folder (C:Program FilesWizmo).
Upon running the program, you'll notice that it doesn't present you with any options or functionality, and that's because this program is command based. To make stuff happen, you'll need to create a shortcut and add a recognizable command, something that you will learn can play to your advantage given the myriad of options available in Wizmo.
Once you have the executable (wizmo.exe) stored somewhere, right click the file and choose Create shortcut, which should give you a new file named "wizmo.exe - Shortcut".
Right click the new shortcut file, and choose Properties. Under the Shortcut tab, you should see a text box labeled Target. After the full filename path, enter a single space and the desired command. The command to turn off your monitor is -monoff.
Click OK and test it out by double clicking the shortcut. At this point your monitor should have gone blank. You can click your mouse button or perform some other action to bring back the display.
Assuming it works, it's up to you where you can to place this shortcut and how you want to customize it. For example, I renamed my shortcut to "Monitor Off" and placed it on my taskbar, then changed the icon to something more fitting.
To change the icon: Right click > Properties > Shortcut tab > Change icon > Browse > C:Windowssystem32imageres.dll > Open > Select icon > OK.
But the power of Wizmo doesn't stop there. Here we have illustrated a single one of its different potential uses. Using similar commands Wizmo can also put your PC in standby, hibernation, lock your workstation, reboot, open/close your CD drive's tray, set your system's audio level, and even combine the different commands.
For example: wizmo volume=0 monoff volume=40
That chain of commands will mute your computer and shut down the monitor(s), then upon your return increase the volume level to 40%.
For a full up to date list of commands head over to the utility's site.

Enable Windows 7's Hidden "God Mode"

As indicated by enthusiasts around the Web, there is a simple way to access a hidden "God Mode" in Windows 7 and Vista. With a name like that, your expectations might be a little high -- and no, Windows is not secretly invincible -- but the trick is awesome nevertheless.
"God Mode" simply provides users with a centralized Control Panel for all of Windows' settings, from changing your desktop background to setting up a VPN or partitioning your hard drive. In all, there are nearly 50 categories and most have several entries.
It's almost comical how simple it is to access it:

  1. Create a new folder. Anywhere is fine, I created one on my desktop.

  2. Rename the folder to: God Mode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} *Note: The "God Mode" chunk can be called anything you want.

  3. The default folder icon will change to a Control Panel icon, and you can open it to view all of the settings.
User reports suggest that it may crash Windows Vista 64-bit, so proceed with caution. For what it's worth, I've successfully used the "feature" on Windows 7 Home Premium and Ultimate 64-bit.
As an additional note, having the undocumented feature disclosed all over the Web, Microsoft has decided to be more open about it admitting similar commands have been available even before Vista. They have also revealed other text strings that create similar "God Mode" folders, a list is available here.
